LARGO, Fla. — A 38-year-old man was arrested after he called 911 and told a dispatcher he was surrounded by police officers and needed help, authorities said.

Police officers had met Dana Farrell Shelton of Largo after being called to investigate a disturbance at a bar on Sunday but had found no problems and told him to move along.

Shelton, who officers said appeared intoxicated, then called 911 to report he was “surrounded by Largo police,” according to an arrest affidavit.

“Our officers were standing there scratching their heads. He called, standing there in their presence,” Largo Sgt. Melanie Holley said. “It’s one of our ‘truth is stranger than fiction’ cases.”

Shelton was charged with misdemeanor misuse of 911. The charge carries maximum penalties of one year in jail and $1,000 in fines.

Freaking amazing. I guess it shows how conditioned we are to call 911 when in trouble, even from our own stupidity. Just goes to show that the police are the good guys. Oh and that you can always get in worse trouble.

1) harry’s owl dies
2) Mad Eye Moodie dies sometime before page 78, you hear of his death from Bill and Fleur
3) Dobby dies
4) Fred dies
5) Remus and Tonks die
6) Harry doesn’t die
7) The sorting hat dies on page 732, Voldemort lights it on fire
8) Neville kills Nagini
9) Snape dies and was actually a good guy. Snape was Dumbledore’s spy all along. Dumbledore plotted his own death so that the power of the Elder Wand would die with him rather than be transferred to his victor. He failed though and the power is transferred to Draco, then to Harry (of course).
10) And OF COURSE Harry kills Voldemort!!

I know its been a while since I have written something of substance. Its been a rough couple of months and I had basically resigned myself to giving up on the blog. Not enough hits, and not enough time. But after the whole Imus event last week I decided I had to put in my 2 cents on the issue. But, as usual, time did not allow for a post that I hoped to make. But as more news and information become available about the Virgina Tech shootings I felt I had to say something.

Lets start with the most important thing: we stand with you VT. You are part of our country and are part of our landscape. You are a college that not only educates our youth, put entertain them as well with your quality sports teams. But at times like this sports seems trivial. Life becomes important. We hear stories of people such as Professor Liviu Lebrescu who barricaded his door so that his students could escape the slaughter, leading to his death. This is the time we must stand together not be separated by the petty things that divide us.

Where am I going with this? DAMN YOU LEFT WING BLOGGERS! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL! Sure you held back as long as you could but less then 36 hours after the shootings you still had to bring politics into it. Personally I’m not going to get into the gun debate with you (for a week) because I have some respect for the dead. You on the other hand want to try and capitalize on this shooting to help your cause. DAMN YOU!

The most embarrassing thing is that you took the time to attack Bush at this time. The President has a duty to go to the Virginia Tech campus and make a statement and try and say what he can to show the importance of support for VT and her mourners. But you left wing scumbags take it as he is trying to boots his poll numbers or that he is trying to give himself some good publicity out of this. DAMN YOU! He is doing what a President should be doing, acting like a leader at a time where the nation needs it. Instead of getting a BJ under his desk like some other Presidents who did nothing but embarrass the office, he is acting Presidential. LEAVE HIM ALONE DAMN YOU! The President is doing what might be the first right thing he has done in his second term and even that you can’t let slip.

You want to talk gun control (and how stupid it is at a time like this because if ONE of those students had a gun and training this would have ended in 2 min.) fine we can do that, IN A WEEK. Let the victims families, their friends and the school mourn for a week. Wait till they resume their lives, by restarting classes, before you resume your ignorance.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -
Anna Nicole Smith, the former Playboy playmate whose bizarre life careened from marrying an octogenarian billionaire to the untimely death of her son, died Thursday after collapsing at a South Florida hotel, one of her lawyers said.

Smith, 39, collapsed and was unresponsive while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino, said the attorney, Ron Rale. She was rushed to a hospital.

“She checked in Monday at 8 p.m. as a guest. She was due to check out tomorrow,” said Danielle Giordaano, a spokeswoman for the hotel.

Smith had been a tabloid staple even before she became Playboy’s playmate of the year in 1993. Readers were fascinated by her bombshell good looks, her marriage to an elderly billionaire and subsequent court fight over his estate, her weight fluctuations, and last year, the sudden death of her 20-year-old son, Daniel Smith.

A former topless dancer, she made her name squeezing into Guess jeans. She resembled the late actress Marilyn Monroe, a similarity played up in her Guess magazine ads, billboards and department store displays.

In 1994, she married 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, the head of oil-based Koch Industries, which is part of a family fortune worth at least $400 million.

He died in 1995, setting off a feud with her former stepson, E. Pierce Marshall, over whether she had a right to his estate.

A federal court in California awarded Smith $474 million in a complicated legal twist that began after she declared bankruptcy. That was later overturned.

But in May, the
U.S. Supreme Court revived her case, ruling that she deserved another day in court in her battle with her former stepson.

The justices said only that federal courts in California could deal with her case despite a Texas state court ruling that Marshall was the sole heir to the estate.

Then, the stepson died June 20 at age 67. But the family said the court fight would continue.

Daniel Smith died Sept. 10 in his mother’s hospital room in the Bahamas, just days after she gave birth to a daughter.

An American medical examiner hired by the family, Cyril Wecht, said he had methadone and two antidepressants in his system when he died. Low levels of the three drugs interacted to cause an accidental death, Wecht said.

Meanwhile, the paternity of her now 5-month-old daughter remained a matter of dispute.

She was born Vickie Lynn Hogan on Nov. 28, 1967, in Houston, one of six children of Donald Eugene and Virgie Hart Hogan.
She married Bill Smith in 1985, giving birth to Daniel before divorcing two years later.

Wow. I dont think any of us saw this coming. I mean she lived a crazy life but, wow. I guess we will get more details as this unfolds. But as my friend put it, I cant believe this is going to make the front page. Its sad but i mean come on its Anna Nicole Smith.

Let me say this upfront, i hate piercings. All of them. Whether it’s ears, nose, bellybutton or tongue I think the whole practice is disgusting. We have more then enough holes in our heads (some more then others *cough* *cough* liberals) we don’t need more.

But even beyond my own views on the subject, to force someone else to be pieced, when they don’t want to be, is crazy and ridiculous and to do it in such a sensitive place makes it worse. The website Parents Behaving Badly reports as follows

Tammy Meredith, of Baton Rouge, La. will be going to jail for a year on aggravated child abuse charges for piercing the pubic area of a 13-year-old girl. She agreed to testify against the girl’s mother, who is charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse. The mother could face up to 30 years in state prison if convicted.

The girl was sexually active with two adult men, one of whom is charged with sexual battery of a child age 12 to 15. After learning of the sexual activity, the mother had Meredith pierce the girl’s private area with a post and a connected hoop. The mother also altered the girl’s hair in an unusual way as a form of punishment.

How crazy is that? Are these people out of their minds!!! I am not going to say this is because of liberal view or anything like that (although they do try and make people think they can do whatever they want) but rather pure common sense. As a parent if you want your kids to behave well, try being a good parents THE WHOLE TIME and not waiting till it got to this point.

This is well beyond punishing someone, this is exactly what the DA says child abuse. I know that we have to let parents raise their own children but we can’t have them doing things like this. It’s even worse, if you ask me, if you are the person giving the piercing. A kid is screaming for you not to do it, yet you let the mother have her way? How off your rocker do you have to be to do something like this?

I know this isn’t exactly politics but I just had to comment

For My Democrat Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our best wishes for
an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress,
non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday,
practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion
of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the
religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice
not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and
medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted
calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of
choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make
America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any
other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. And without
regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith
or sexual preference of the wishee. By accepting these greetings you are
accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or
withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original
greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of
the wishes for herself or himself or others and is void where prohibited
by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.

This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application
of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a
subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is
limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole
discretion of the wisher.

For My Republican Friends:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I wish I had the time to be that creative…Great job

When Apollo Mission Astronaut Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon, he not only gave his famous “One small step for man; one giant leap for mankind” statement, but followed it by several remarks, including the usual COM traffic between him, the other astronauts, and Mission Control. Before he re-entered the lander, he made the enigmatic remark “Good luck, Mr. Gorsky.”
Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet Cosmonaut. However, upon checking, [they found] there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American space programs.

Over the years, many people have questioned him as to what the “Good luck, Mr. Gorsky” statement meant. On July 5, in Tampa Bay, FL, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26- year-old question to Armstrong. He finally responded. It seems that Mr. Gorsky had died and so Armstrong felt he could answer the question. When he was a kid, Neil was playing baseball with his brother in the backyard. His brother hit a fly ball which landed in front of his neighbors’ bedroom window. The neighbors were Mr. and Mrs. Gorksy. As he leaned down to pick up the ball, he heard Mrs. Gorsky shouting at Mr. Gorsky, “Oral sex? Oral sex you want? You’ll get oral sex when the kid next door walks on the moon!”

It’s always a great honor.

Although I didn’t win Best Left Wing blog as well, it’s pretty clear something fishy is going on because The Hearsay had clearly gotten more votes then any other lefty blog. Obviously someone was upset by the fact that such a clearly right wing blog beat out the lefties it was excluded.

Fact is it only went to prove my point…People dont vote for the fact, they vote their hearts. My friends and readers saw my name and voted for me, had nothing to do with the fact that my blog is as anti-left wing as it gets. Oh well, maybe next year…

You all know one of the things i have the most is admitting when a Liberal/Democrat has done something right. But in one of her first days in her new post Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has done something very right. Today she made the rule that no one is allowed to smoke in the Speakers Lobby which is right off the house floor.

According to CNN,

“The days of smoke-filled rooms in the United States Capitol are over,” Pelosi said. “Medical science has unquestionably established the dangerous effects of secondhand smoke, including an increased risk of cancer and respiratory diseases. I am a firm believer that Congress should lead by example.”

Well at least the reds aren’t totally screwing up. I don’t care about arguments that people make that it’s their freedom to kill themselves if they want. Second hand smoke kills, it’s that simple. If you want to kill yourself? Great (especially if you are Ted Kennedy)! But killing others, no matter how slow? That’s murder. So good job Speaker Pelosi, wow never thought I would say that, or ever again.

The following letter was sent to the President of Pace. I encourage all of you to do the same his e-mail is president@pace.edu

President Caputo,
As a student here at Pace University (2nd year Law student) I feel it is my duty to bring to your attention a travesty that has been taking place at our school. If you have not already read David Andreatta’s article in the New York Post, you probably should, I have included a link here.

As it is clear from the article this have been taking place for a decent amount of time and yet nothing has been said by the school to condemn the actions of those administrators responsible for physically restraining a student or threatening police actions for showing a movie as part of their freedom of speech.

As a member of the Pace community I received all the e-mails that you sent out after the terrible incident with the Koran, the first one being a mere 3 days after the incident. However not one word has been said about this incident, why is that?

Is there a greater importance given to a book (no matter how holy some people say it is) then there is given to when an administrator, as the article put it, “physically restrained him (Abdurakhmanov) as he attempted to defend the film and his group in a meeting with administrators”?

Your spokesman said that it was a “…good-faith effort by the deans to mediate between the Muslim Students Association and Hillel” Putting ones hands a student is never considered good faith when one is an administrator.

In addition the fact that the dean of students, Marijo Russell O’Grady, suggested that “if you show this film, the police will be looking into your records further,” implying that Abdurakhmanov and others were involved in the Koran incident is a travesty where there is no proof for such allegations.

Any attempt to prevent Mr. Abdurakhmanov from showing the movie, including threats and physical action, without any actions by the school to prevent them, will just further show the schools bias for Muslim sensitives over Jewish right to freedom of speech.

As a concerned member of the Pace community I hope to hear that the school will be doing something to punish those responsible for these terrible actions against the school Hillel and that they will be allowed to show their film without further problems. And i further hope that I no longer have to hear about incidents like this from a newspaper that all of NY reads, rather then from you because it is clear that the student went to the paper because the school wouldn’t do anything.

Thank you for your time,
